Trail: Walk on old railroad bed converted to a trail. Some rocks and one hill on the 10 km option. The trail winds along the Palouse River through cow pastures, high basalt canyons, and wooded forests. From the top of the canyon you will have views of Steptoe Butte and Kamiak Butte.

Miscellaneous: Water and rest rooms at start/finish. Pets are permitted along the trail as long as they do not chase the cows and owners are responsible for leash and clean-up laws. AVA start and waiver form must signed, carried, and returned to the Volkssport finish booth for all walkers (credit and free).

Directions: From Spokane: Take US 195 South to Colfax, Turn right on highway 26. Trailhead is .9 mile from Colfax. Watch for Volkssport Signs. From Seattle: Take I-90 East to US 395 (just west of Ritzville). Travel south to Highway 26 and travel east to start/finish.
